Phoenix housing market continues to improve in February

The Phoenix Metropolitan area continues to experience an improving residential real estate climate.  Statistics available from sources including ARMLS, the local MLS point to a continuing reduction in the number of homes on the market and a continuing increase in selling prices compared to this time a year ago.  Here are a few of the findings for your reference:

Total distressed sales were down 28% in February compared to February 2011.

Inventory of homes available for sale at $100,000 or less are down 63% from a year ago.

Prices per square foot are up 10.7% from a year ago.

For homes in the $100,000 to $200,000 price range, inventory is down 44% from a year ago and prices are up 4.1%.
