2012 FQ Story Historic Home Tour in Downtown Phoenix

The 2012 edition of the FQ Story Historic Home Tour is soon approaching.  The FQ Story tour is truly one of the best organized and enjoyable of the Historic Neighborhood Home Tours in Phoenix.  A 2 day affair, this year’s event takes place on Saturday night, December 1st and then carries on during daytime hours on Sunday, December 2nd.   On Saturday night this year, the home tour route along Lynwood, will be lit up with luminaries.  The tour this year will feature 10 homes, which will be open for viewing to ticket holders on both Saturday night and Sunday aftenoon.  On Sunday afternoon, there will be an abundance of food and gift vendors on site.  Tickets are $15 and can be purchased in advance online or at the Tour headquarters on the day of the event at 9th Ave & Lynwood.

The F.Q. Story Historic Neighborhood was named after the prestigous land-owner of the area in the 1900’s – Francis Quarles Story. The district boundary runs from McDowell Rd. south to Roosevelt St. and from Seventh Ave. west to Grand Ave. The Neighborhood consists of 602 homes that were constructed from the late 1920s through the late 1940s. A variety of architectural styles are featured, including Spanish Colonial Revival, English Tudor, Craftsman bungalows and Transitional Ranch.
